Week 0, Building the Foundation

The Challenge

This is Week 0 of a 6-month build-in-public transformation: traditional developer → ML Engineer + AI Engineer.

Every week: a system built, a model trained or agent deployed, a blog post written, a video published. In public. No hiding.

Why This Exists

The honest version: I came back from 18 months away for JEE, leaned hard into AI-assisted coding, and found myself shipping confidently at 30-40% understanding of my own code. I was getting the reward without doing the reps.

The full story is in the Week 0 video.

What Week 0 Built

  • This portfolio website (Next.js 14, Supabase, Vercel)
  • The try.except channel (YouTube + Instagram)
  • The 6-month roadmap

The Rule

70% ML Engineering / 30% AI Engineering. Every week. No exceptions.

Stanford CS229 as the ML backbone. Real deployment. Real monitoring. Real evaluation.

Week 1 Preview

Training the first ML model. Adding it to this portfolio as a live demo. Understanding every line.

If you can't explain it, you don't own it.
